So, I guess a lotta folks watched the Nova coverage, huh?
Uh...yeah....Not sure WHAT I was doing, Internet-wise, during Nova...

Oh, c'mon...you knew that joke was coming :P
Now shhhh! Lie still, this'll all be over soon....
Or not.
;)
Seriously, though, I wish I had the time, and the attention span, to watch the proceedings.
I'm like a cracked-out, overly-caffeinated hummingbird at the best of times, honestly.
I'm the guy that has 12 browser tabs open, cuz I can't wait the single second it takes a page to load.
Also, no one I know will allow me to touch a TV remote, cuz my rapid channel surfing causes people to have Epileptic Seizures, apparently.
I think it's funny, but I'm told that my behavior is 'inappropriate' (whatever THAT means...).
Or not.

So yeah, I'm not really capable of sitting and watching 40k games via live streaming video.
Props to the 11th Company Podcast crew, though.
*Recommendation for next time- a 'Xenos Only' feed. Just sayin'*
I gotta say that Mike Brandt (or MVB as he is known 'round these parts), creator of the Nova event, writer of Whiskey & 40k and an obvious tactical genius is quite a credit to our community.
Big ups to MVB...He's the fucking man.
*Unfortunately, he's an Imperial player and will have to be liquidated during Phase 22 of my Plan.
...Sorry, MVB....Love ya!
Now into the liquefying chamber...*
Honestly, I was kinda surprised to find that the initial posts I saw featuring 'live coverage' pretty much focused on...
...Cheating and accusations thereof
...Shenanigans and misinterpreted rules
...Complaints about...whatever
....
..
What.the.fuck?
*sigh*
This is kinda one of those situations that make me go:
EXACTLY WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON AROUND HERE, ANYWAY?
*I have my own kind, I guess*
I was kinda expecting to see some pics of cool armies, maybe a little hot 'blogger on blogger' tentacle action, I dunno.
Gotta admit...I'm a little disappointed here, folks.
*Sadly, Brent didn't make it to Nova. This is from his collection*
I...realize I probably shouldn't be surprised, this is the Internet, after all...

I sorta wanted to hear about good times, good games, or...something cool.
Instead I got...bullshit.
Again....*sigh*
Yes, I realize that over the coming days we'll probably be flooded with tons of batreps, pics, and all that good stuff (including superfluous silliness like...well, this. Heh), but that initial bit o' nonsense almost made me reach for my Disintegrator Gun....
Thankfully, the majority of the really bad stuff seemed to be isolated to the various forums, but blogs were linking the 'drama-filled' threads, for whatever reason.
'Comment sections' were full of...well, you know...
Do these kinda things attract readers?
I dunno.
I've clicked enough 'Dakka links' to know it's generally a train wreck when these things blow up, and I'm good on the whole 'train wreck thread thing' at this point, actually.
In a way, an event like this (and others like Adepticon, WarGamesCon, Throne of Skulls, etc) are a reflection of US as a collective.
Big events like the Nova DEFINE our community.
They're like a 'snapshot' of 'where we're at.'
I, for one, REALLY wanted to hear about how some of the 'familiar names' were doing.
I wanted to see our collective freak flag waving proudly, held in the hands of happy, smiling gamers.
Instead, I was remind that sometimes the Internet isn't necessarily a good thing. Heh.
Meh...waddayagonnado? Nature of the beast, I guess.
The 'beast' is kinda a jerk, apparently.
That being said, I was disappointed, again, by the fact that a Hated Imperial Player won the Nova.
It has come to my attention that the same Terran youth has now triumphed at a SERIES of big 40k tournaments, not just this one...twice...
Hmph.
Fear not, my fellow Xenos, Heretics and Mutants, for I have a Special Jar set aside for our young friend's brain.
Instead I got...bullshit.

*and nobody wants THAT, believe you me*

*we will extract all the pertinent information, of course*
The multiple fluid exchanging valves in my central body cavity did palpitate rapidly upon hearing that the Masters of Commorragh dropped out of the Webway and delivered much death upon the Imperial lackeys, however...
Enjoy your 'victory' FOR NOW, pathetic followers of the Corpse God!
Your Emperor is a lie, and his Empire is an illusion you sad creatures cling to.
Know that your extinction is nigh, and prepare yourself for the inevitable end.
In other words- learn to speak Tau before next year's Nova!
;)
Xenos ProTip- there's a primer in the 'current' Tau Codex. Lucky you!

*sigh...yeah...you can cut me...I'm used to it now...*
Two DE players, along with a single Ork and 'Nid player made the Top 8 tables!
That's what's up. :)

Until next time, folks- Have a very Xenos day!
