The Weekly Top X - Punch and Pie to Follow

Hello Ladies and Germs, and Welcome to the the Weekly Top X.  Recently declared (by Forbes magazine, no less) to have the ' cleanest restrooms' for all national chain gas stations.  It's an honor and I'm not ashamed to be proud about it.

Good ol' bathroom humor.
But I'm not here today to talk about the long list of prestigious, made-up awards the HoP continues to amass.  No sir or madam.  Today is about getting the word out about our member's blogs.

1) Strictly Average - Finally! Finished Grey Knight Commission
A long-ass time ago, Brent took on a commission to paint an entire Grey Knights army. Mistakes were made, challenges were overcome and lessons were learned. Now it’s finally done and I think it was worth the wait and certainly worth the effort.

2) Turn 7 Wargmaing - Battle Report: Tyranids vs. Necrons (7/14/12 RTT Round 2)
We got one of our newer members here as well as a newer blog. If this is the kind of quality the man can produce, he’s well on his way to a bookmarking service near you. As an added bonus to all this awesome shiz, this report all takes place within a fairly comprehensive use of the 6th edition rules.

3) The Dice Gods Are Hungry - Storm Guardian Rescue
Here we’ve got Neil reminding you everyone to be nicer to their models and to try and not be so rubbish when it comes to shipping things you sell on ebay. There’s also a link to the post that inspired all this PSA goodness and I strongly recommend you read that as well.

4) Monty World - Attaque Rapide - Valkyrie - Photos de jour
Nothing quite like an awesomely painted model to get your Friday rolling along. Monty did a bang up job in this beauty and its well worth your time to click on this link. It’s in the Top X fer cryin’ out loud! It’s gotta be good. But if a painted model isn’t your thing, then check out the WIPs as well. If this STILL isn’t your thing then you should just go ahead and die since you clearly can’t find joy in the world.

5) Hereticwerks - Bujilli: Episode 34
Waaaaay back in January, we took some time to give the fine people at Hereticwerks some very deserved publicity on a pretty crazy idea they had for running an rpg game on their blog.  It seemed like an amazing idea back then and it turned out that it contunued to be awesome all the way up to now.  34 episodes and counting, man!  They're doing something right.

6)  Miscellaneous Miniatures - 1000 Chapters
One of the great benefits of paying attention to they blog rolls on a regular basis is that you find all these amazing pieces of internet hobby treasure that other people have dug up.  In this case, the fine folk at Miscellaneous Miniatures unearthed this amazing vault of Space Marine lore.  I'll let the,m tell you about it, though.  So get clicking!

7) Coloured Dust - How to make a simple but good-looking socket?
Got an interesting one here for ya...  well, all the Top X picks are interesting, so I guess this one is out of the ordinary.  Anywho, this post will be of particular interest for all you budding painters out there who are exploring the wonders and joys of painting models for not-gaming.

8) Neil of Orange's Hobby Blog - Sci-fi Troopers from Heresy and Hasslefree
Another Neil, another great hobby post.  In this post, we get a good look at some cool models that can be used in place of the increasingly expensive stuff from GW.  As an added bonus, Neil gives us a ton of ideas for alt models on top of his great Hasslefree guys.

No punch and pie, I'm afraid.  Unless you're buying.  I just told everyone there'd be food to get you to read to the end.
