The Weekly Top X - Devastatin' Daves

All right everyone, before we get into the Top X today, there's a little bit of old business we need to cover.  You see, Dethtron committed a cardinal sin yesterday when he showed you the album cover for Devastatin' Dave but did not link to the 'song' itself.  Luckily, I'm here to save his, and everyone else's immortal souls.  From the evils of drugs.  With a song that was almost assuredly co-written by Bill Cosby.

A timely message for our troubling, modern world.

The Weekly Top X

1) Creative TwilightApril Assault 40K Tournament – Kamui’s Review
I know there's a lot of hate out there for heavily comped tournaments and I'd be lying if the very idea didn't bug me as well.  But you need to do more than complain!  There is a great deal of value in taking a good hard long look at 'em.  Like Kamui did here since he also participated in one.  And had a great deal of fun while he was at it. So double good on him.  Triple if we're counting his excellent review.  Which we are now doing.

2) Sons of Sanguinius -Reader Question Time - Count As and You
This is a little somethin' somethin' directly responding to what GMort was on about this week.  It's a grand discussion about the nature of count's as.  And I do mean discussion - the comments on this bad boy are great!  As for my own opinion of counts as... well, let's just say that it's explicitly supported by the mothership and that's pretty awesome.

3) Political DiceThis is most… Irregular…
The idea of historical table top games has come up more than few times in our own comments this week so I thought it might be a good idea to highlight some information for any interested parties.  I didn;t have to go far thanks to Asheth.  Herein lies an interview with an independent game developer and if you have any interest in the topic of historical games, this is a great starting place.

4) Eye of ErrorWhere I get Inspiration From...
Come for the clever blog name, stay for the amazing art work he dug up.  Not too much to say about this post other than CLICK ON THE LINK ALREADY!

5) Aurelius LegionBadab War - Minotaurs Tactical Squad Finished
I think the best product Forgeworld has ever produced is the Badab War set.  So anytime I see someone working on a space marine chapter that was featured in the two books, I'm immediately interested.  Anytime I see something this well done, I have to spend the next few days fighting off the urge to quite my job and make a 2000 point army for every chapter involved.

6) Capture and Control Warhammer Master Series Game #3
There's actually a couple of good posts on the Master Series stuff over at Capture and Control, but the linked post caught my eye.  Those Imperial Fists have been haunting my dreams!

7) Lead ReckoningMecha, mecha everywhere
There's a lot of 15mm stuff out there beyond the Flames of War stuff and the longer I write the Top X, the more staggering that selection becomes.  I think it's an interesting area that doesn't get the coverage it deserves.  So we have this post.  It has robots.  Robots are awesome.

8) N++ Wargaming Tradecraft - Headshots: Lilith 1
A couple of weeks ago we did an announcement for Dave's charity event in which he made many promises. Chief among them was progress on the models he planned to auction off as a part of the whole deal.  Well, he has not disappointed.  His Borderlands models are looking fantastic!
