The Weekly Top X - Old Stuff Day

Did you remember?  Did ya?  It's OK if you didn't, it's not like it only happens once a year or anything. Oh...  that's EXACTLY what it's like.  Well, WE didn't forget about Old Stuff Day!  So you can take heart in that at least.

Which is where this Top X comes in.  I thought that I could kill two birds with one stone and do a Top X of the most read posts on the House of Paincakes.  As it so happened, number one on the list was a post about Big Jim's army was stolen.  Lame.  So I revised the criteria a little and decided to do a Top X entry for each one of our authors.  So today, a self referential Old Stuff Top X - the most read post from each of out authors.

1) Von - The Von Show: What Makes A Good RPG?
The very first post from he who is bearded.  And a cracking good time it was (is)!  Von knew the first episode was gonna be key to setting up his series for success and he nailed.  Hard. Also, all your collective mom's.  I don't usually toss out phrases like 'tour de force', but that's the situation we have on out hands here.

2) Dethtron - Gaming on a Budget: Dethtron's Gaming Table Revealed
<56k Warning>  Dethtron spent a lot of time on this leg of his Gaming on a Budget series and it really paid dividends for the HoP and his gaming room.  Having personally played on the table he made, I can only say that as awesome as this post and it's pictures are, it doesn't do the endeavor justice.

3) GMort - Who says I can't?
This is one of those posts that I wish I had written.  Of course I would have had to have suffered through the interactions with the antagonists described in it, though.  So there's a silver lining to my jealousy cloud.  This post says everything that needs to be said about who should tell you how to enjoy the thousands of dollars you've spent on 40k.

4) SinSynn - Lament of a Xenos Player
What can I say about SinSynn that hasn't already been duly noted in his psych evaluations?  Uh... I mean, as a Xeno player myself, this post really resonated with me.  It's also pure SinSynn - disjointed but coherent, divisive but welcoming and, most of all, hilarious.

5) Loquacious - [Musings of a Game Store Owner] GW and "the Bubble"
One of the best things about Lo's Musings series is just how interesting her approach to the whole series is. It's really less of a surreptitious peek behind the curtain than it is a welcoming invitation to a seminar on what all the levers do.  And how the giant head projection system works.  This post in particular is a neat little piece of comparative bid'ness studies and should probably be required reading for anyone who wants to start a thread about "how I would run X".

6) Lauby - Gaming on a Budget - Things You Shouldn't Buy
Well, it's not really all that old, bit what I thought was a filler post has turned out to be the single most read post of mine on this site by a wide margin.  I guess that sometimes you just gotta be a little negative and if your shoot from the hip, you may hit a bulls eye anyway.  The Ice Pirates reference probably also didn't hurt.
