With this in mind, we at the HOP have decided to speed up our time line of becoming a full fledged blog and full service blog network. Starting this coming Monday, we hope to have a number of exciting enhancements made to the site and begin our full hobby article operations. The short list of things coming for the week ahead include:
- Database of all member sites, as we have nearly filled the display capacity of the two blog rolls. The blog rolls will still be up there, but with realistically only being able to show 50 blogs at once, we wanted to make sure that everyone has visibility.
- Daily (or more) tactics, hobby, list building, and whatever articles from several authors. Lots of secret plans at work here, you'll just have to tune in to see the end result
- An army of the week feature, highlighting the behind the scenes process of creating a stunning army and the tactics employed on the field of battle
- Hobby event pimping. If you have a tourney, painting contest, paincake eating competition, or other hobby event e-mail us the details at houseofpaincakes.info@gmail.com and we'll be sure to give you a shout out
- Product reviews for our favorite hobby items. Un- biased, blunt, and advertisement free, as you would expect
- Weekly top (insert whole number integer here) lists. We're reading all of your blogs looking for the best articles every week. The most enlightening ones will be featured in a weekly post

giving you anything to fear would contradict our goals of advancing the hobby. besides, our wendesday top wen will be way differend ;)
We're actually semni-outsourcing this one and bringing in one of our favorite writers to port over a series that he's been doing anyway, with just a few tweaks.
Cool, I look forward to seeing it! It actually surprises me how few people are willing to try a weekly community feature, and kinda sad to see how few that do last past the few months.

Just out of interest what makes a blog 'original recipe' as opposed to 'extra crispy'.
At first I thought it was age but after looking more thoroughly I found that some of the blogs in 'extra crispy' have been around for ages and have hundreds of followers whereas there's some 'original recipe' blogs that seem fairly new.
Not that it matters particularly, I was just interested.
Can't wait for the new stuff to roll in. Doing a damn fine job so far!
